Who specifically tried to kill elected officials? Which specific officials? What weapon did they use in their attempt? Which court are they being charged in, so we can go look at the charges?
What percentage of the people there in the capitol that day own firearms? 75% 90%? How many of them brought those firearms with them? How many of them used any firearms they brought?

So many things don't add up with your comments here. I'll focus on the one where you feel the need to make this a partisan issue.
It was the Capitol Police themselves that refused the help offered by the Pentagon [apnews.com]. This turndown of help occurred before the riot and during. If you're going to try and twist facts to make a point at least understand the hierarchy of who runs the police in Washington.
