Standardise on decent wireless charging and the use of high-speed direct WiFi and/or Bluetooth. The next gen phones and computers should all be portless, buttonless, rugged and water resistant, with long support lifecycles and batteries which are tuned for durability, rather than time-between-charges.
Why? It's about time we started making devices with the goal of being able to use them anywhere/everywhere. I should be able to put my phone down at work on a desk with thousands of embedded coils and have my stuff charge. When I'm wanting to communicate with friends, I should be able do so using the most direct, automatically negotiated method.
In the grand scheme of things, whether chargers ship in-box is irrelevant.
