schliz writes "Researchers are re-examining the Second Law of Thermodynamics in a bid to manage heat from laptops and other miniaturised electronics, according to an article in iTnews. Using the concept of Brownian ratchets, the researchers hope to allow computers to operate at low power levels, and harness power dissipated by other functions."
