An anonymous reader writes "According to a manufacturing cost break down, it turns out that Amazon is willing to sell Kindle Fire at a $10 loss. The company estimates that Kindle Fire, priced at $199, actually costs $209.63 to produce. Analysts feel that the Kindle Fire, while slightly profitable as a content device, is really valuable to Amazon as a vehicle to drive more such purchases to add to the company's $34 billion in revenue last year."
