It's a combination of declining market share and the general difficulty of building apps for the BlackBerry platform, one developer told Bloomberg: "RIM brought in a touchscreen and mixed it with a thumbwheel, a keyboard and shortcut keys, it made it really difficult and expensive to develop across devices.""

Real Programs don't use shared text. Otherwise, how can they use functions for scratch space after they are finished calling them?
